Fade R hubs
At the heart of the wheels are Newmen's own Fade R hubs, which feature high-quality double-sealed industrial bearings for durability in all conditions.
Sapim Race spokes
By far the most popular spoke in Sapim's range is the indestructible Sapim Race model, which can be used to build the most stable wheels while still weighing very little. The flexible centre section handles high peak loads with ease. Plus, the omission of the heavily loaded spoke bend eliminates a potential breaking point, further minimising the risk of getting stranded with a flat tyre. The Sapim Race spoke is a true all-round spoke with which you are well prepared for any adventure.
In these wheels, Newmen alternates J-bend and straight-pull spokes, which is quite striking. It has made it possible to reduce the number of spokes to 21 while maintaining the same stiffness. It saves weight and improves aerodynamics. The 36-tooth pawl freewheel provides instant acceleration.

A game-changer for my Cube Nuroad Race 2027
This Newmen Advanced A.50 wheelset has completely transformed my Cube Nuroad 2027. With TPU inner tubes and 32 mm Continental GP5000 tyres, the bike rides almost like a proper road bike. In fact, I’ve now got rid of my CAAD12 road bike, as this gravel bike now fulfils both roles effortlessly. The wheels feel fast, responsive and efficient. The distinctive sound of the Fade R hub is a lovely bonus. At speed, you can clearly feel the aerodynamic advantage; the bike maintains its pace with ease and feels as though it’s cutting through the wind. What’s more, its susceptibility to crosswinds remains perfectly manageable. The comfort is also impressive, thanks to the combination of the rims and 32 mm tyres, which effectively filter out shocks and vibrations.

Top-quality wheels for the price
I used to have 25mm aluminium rims, but I’ve replaced them with Newmen’s 50mm-deep carbon rims. The difference is really noticeable – not only the weight but also the speed has really changed.
Pros & Cons

World-class weight at a fair price
Significantly lighter than my previous aluminium rims and a good 70 grams lighter than dt Swiss rims that cost twice as much. The freewheel is quiet, even if I generally like the sound, on group rides I find the loud freewheels rather annoying. Here you can hang in the slipstream in stealth mode with the Newman rims.
